The Hollywood Reporter has declared Meghan Markle and Prince Harry among the biggest losers in Hollywood for 2023. This shocking twist of fate has led the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to request to be in the latest edition of Poor Me magazine.

Chock full of articles about two average folks like you and me...

Ex-His Royal Highness:
Silver spoons and why they taste so icky
Princes don't need last names: Prince Harry, Prince William, & 'artist formerly know as'

Ex-Her Royal Highness
Strong.  Black.  Female.  Meghan is so much more than the labels she gives herself
The inside story of how Meghan was actually the inspiration for Rachel Zegler's Snow White

And much, much more!

Is it a coincidence the world has been plunged into chaos since 'Megxit'?  Experts weigh in about the wars, economic disasters, and environmental catastrophes possibly caused by them leaving the Royal Family in 2021.  Undeniable facts that prove the world really does revolve around them!

He said / she said: Spotify didn't dump us, we dumped them

Also in this issue: how to promote documentaries, books, interviews, and movies about yourself when you don't like attention from the press

Aren't they precious? Today is the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Good stuff!

Certainly sounds like an explosive issue of my favorite magazine. Has me wondering when they will embark on their next "Don't Give Us So Much Attention" Global book tour.

For some reason, it also reminds me of OJ Simpson's book release, "If I Had Done It." Makes me wonder why OJ never appeared on the cover. Perhaps a retrospective return to OJ's tribulations could be considered for a future issue of the magazine.

It comes with a title of "Hero of Socialist Labor." Anything beyond that is bourgeois decadence. You don't want to be titled "Hero of Bourgeois Labor," do you, comrade?

There is no such thing as Bourgeois Labor!

No, no - I was merely asking for a friend.  A friend I feel I should denounce now for even asking that question.  I spit on bourgeois decadence! I want to own nothing and be happy, just like the World Economic Forum says.

Also, the primary graphic in the link for issue one is broken.

Thanks for the warning, Colonel! The image is fixed now. And the comments are really great. I liked a suggested tagline, "Poor Me ... for those who appreciate a good whine."

Perhaps we can use it going forward. It made me think of the word "whinery." It may not exist with this meaning, but I hear Northern California is replete with big and small whineries, private or communal, where those who appreciate a good whine go on whine-tasting tours.

Also, some timeless headlines from Commissarka Pinkie:

Sorry, Colonel, I was under a self-imposed house arrest at the time, caused by a self-denunciation (the Party members call it a "selfie"), which was why I missed your Poor Me cover. It should've been #7, and this one should then be #8. Suggestions?

Easiest Solution: Let it ride and skip any new #11.

Squinky Solution: In the late 1960s, after someone lost the original finished art for Zap Comix #1 on an airliner,  Robert Crumb and his associates drew an entirely new first issue and published it as Zap Comix #1.

Zap 1-0.jpg

Later, after the lost art was found, they published it as Zap Comix #0—a completely nonsensical solution that probably should not be repeated here.

Nothing to be concerned about here, Comrade Director. The error makes issue #11 priceless, for the collector. It should be put on a glass covered podium, surrounded by a permanent armed guard and a red roped barrier, in The People's Cube Museum of Brilliant Thoughts, so the proletariat can view it, without questioning it. The People™ need to be reminded of the Glory™ of The Party™.
