BRUCE PASCOE SCANDAL: NO, POLICE DIDN'T CLEAR HIM OF FAKING ABORIGINALITY

This Age and Sydney Morning Herald headline is fake news:

"AFP dismisses claims Dark Emu author faked Aboriginal heritage for profit."

This is misleading at best. The Australian Federal Police made no such finding, but it says plenty that the Nine newspapers apparently want you to believe this.
This is what the AFP says it actually found:

The AFP confirmed in a statement that it was "referred correspondence in relation to alleged fraudulent activity against the Commonwealth by Professor Bruce Pascoe" on Christmas Eve.

Today, a spokesman said "no Commonwealth offence had been identified" and the AFP had now "finalised this matter".

The AFP said Pascoe's "Aboriginality was not relevant in determining whether a Commonwealth offence had been committed" and so those inquiries had not been undertaken.

As I suggested yesterday, the AFP did not find Pascoe committed a crime under Commonwealth law by, say, gaining some financial advantage by (falsely) claiming to be Aboriginal. It did not find a potential crime under Commonwealth law and so did not investigate whether Pascoe was indeed Aboriginal.

And, indeed, the evidence is overwhelming that he is not Aboriginal.

It is telling that both the Nine newspapers and the ABC in reporting this AFP finding do not ask Pascoe the very simple and obvious question: so, Bruce, who exactly is your Aboriginal ancestor? Bruce, which of your ancestors, who genealogical records suggest were exclusively of English descent, was actually Aboriginal instead?

It's almost like they really, really don't want to know the truth and spoil what's been such a useful myth for the Left, and now is turning about to be a terrible embarrassment.

Here's just another insight into how little truth now matters to the media Left. Apply this insight to their reporting on Trump and on global warming, too.

To sum up - Pascoe claims to be Aboriginal, even though:

• genealogical records suggest all Pascoe's ancestors are actually of English descent.
  
• Pascoe's claim to be descended from Boonwurrung, Yuin and Tasmanian Aborigines are rejected by the Boonwurrung Land & Sea Council, Yuin representatives and the Tasmanian Aboriginal Land Council.
  
• Pascoe refuses to name just who his Aboriginal ancestors are, or give any proof he is Aboriginal.
  
• Pascoe used to claim he was Aboriginal through one of his two maternal great-grandmothers, allegedly a Boonwurrung woman, only to admit years later that she "was, in fact, born in England". Which she was.
  
• Pascoe has nevertheless since claimed descent from no fewer than five Aboriginal tribes or groups in five different states, including from allegedly Aboriginal ancestors on the Lockhart River he'd previously described as "the white side of my Pascoe family".
  
• Pascoe didn't publicly describe himself as Aboriginal until after a reviewer of his first novel (in 1988) said it would have been better had it been written by an Aborigine, not a white.
  
• Pascoe now says he "fully identified" as Aboriginal when he was 40, but when he was 46 he placed a public advertisement which suggested he was having trouble proving it and asked for help: "I have been looking for my Koori family for a number of years without much success."
  
• Pascoe now says his Aboriginal ancestry - allegedly from five different groups of ancestors - would actually “fall below the line” of some “blood quantum” testing.

Not surprisingly for an author who cannot report even his own ancestry correctly, Pascoe's best-seller Dark Emu is riddled with errors, false citations and misrepresentations. That, too, is defended by journalists of the Left.

Read and marvel how little the truth matters now, especially to presenters on the ABC, our national broadcaster.

Truth is exclusive and that's just like so wrong.

If this guy is an Aboriginal Australian, it would lead to a great scientific discovery: the great Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy was also an Aboriginal Australian because he looks very much like him.


This would have huge ramifications in history, anthropology, and geopolitics, let alone the studies of Russian literature.

Firstly, it would completely disprove the entertaining video about Tolstoy below.

Secondly, it would give the Russian president Vladimir Putin legitimate grounds to annex Australia and Tasmania as indigenous Russian territories, in addition to Crimea, where Tolstoy also fought the white nationalist Anglo-Saxon invaders in the Crimean war (1853-1856).
