Now: A 'living' document where the meanings can be changed to fit the needed narrative to protect the rights of the government from individuals

My little brother never did return my 'borrowed' Ronald McDonald figure that he 'borrowed'... little bastard... He keeps promising he will... it's only been six years that I've been asking him... And the Assassin Husky has passed away since then, so no Husky for any video or pictures unless the family adopts another one... (sigh)... At least we still have the ushankas and old army coats. A dolphin can dream.

I'll keep trying, Red... I promise... simply because it holds so much promise...

BTW... this reminds me of that old Current Truth thread... One Man's ______ is another Man's ______ .

These are all excellent, comrades, but can be reduced to two maxims, which I never tire of repeating:

Good
Then: Someone who was honorable, honest, hard-working and kind.
Now: Us no matter what we do.

Bad
Then: Someone who was dishonest, profligate and mean.
Now: Them. No matter how good, in the old sense, they happen to be.

Recall, as I never tire of saying [ Ann Counter taught me this one ],

There are no crimes, only criminals.

You see how well that works? Then any charge of hypocrisy for us is by definition false, and any charge of hypocrisy, or theft, or evil against the non-us is by definition true. It's the seriousness of the charge and truth has nothing to do with it.

What? You want truth? Get outta here.

User avatar
CHECK:
Then; A chit for money in exchange for goods and services that you sign your name to on the front.
Now; A gift from the government for not holding your own that you endorse on the back.

User avatar
Individualism:
Then - The belief that individuals are ends-in-themsleves and that individual rights are imperative to prevent mob rule.
Now - Expressing oneself via the body (tattoos, piercings, t-shirts, etc.) in order to show how "unique" one might be while still conforming to collectivist ideology.

User avatar
I would like to put forward an additional definition of the Progressive evolution of Good:

Good: Active measures in the community and personal life to improve the circumstances and spirit of both strangers and kin.

Good: Set of noblest opinions in profound favour of Utopia for all humanity - summarised as 'free everything for the downtrodden obtained at expense of trodees' - which shall be facilitated by progressive socialist means. Requires liberal arts diploma or higher qualification, to be vetted by Progressive Committee of Liberal Superiority.

Also..

Sex: Means of achieving significant emotional bond with another human being for purposes of producing a family to provide company and comfort from early adulthood to old age.

Sex: Cheapest form of entertainment available to downtrodden masses, may result in viral infection of uterus knows as fetus. Frequent changes of partner required to avoid formation of emotional bonds and destabilising thoughts of commitment to entity other than cause of Progressivism and Party Approved Self-Gratification.

User avatar
Let's try some more definitions.

Sex then: a way for two people to grow closer and share their lives. A bond.

Sex now: Taking money from people by force, or forcing people to do what they do not want to do.

Orgasm now: what was once called sex. It doesn't matter if you are paying for it; all that matters is getting off as often and as fast as possible.

User avatar
This is old but true:

I became confused when I heard the word “Service" used with these agencies:

Internal Revenue 'Service'
U.S. Postal 'Service'
Telephone 'Service'
Cable TV 'Service'
Civil 'Service'
State, City, County & Public 'Service'
Customer 'Service'

This is not what I thought 'Service' meant.

But I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'Service' a few cows. BAM! It all comes into focus.

Now I understand what all those agencies are doing to us.

User avatar
Well... now you understand your "Secret Service"...

They even have an unofficial Service song, to the tune of Pablo Cruise's "I go to Rio"...

When Obama,
When Obama winks at us,
We go to Rio
De Janeiro.
My-o me-o...
We go wild and then
We have to hide the expense,
From the government!

Now We're not the kind of people,
With a passion or persuasion
For dancin' or romancin'.
But we give in to the rhythm,
And our hips follow the beating
Of our loins.

whoa oh ohh...
When Obama,
When Obama smiles at us,
We go to Rio
De Janeiro.
We're straightlaced fellas,
But Obama smiles at us,
POTUS lightens up our lives,
And we're free at last.
What a blast!

Whoa oh ohh...
When Obama,
When Obama smiles at us,
We feel like Tarzan
Of the Jungle.
On the hot sand,
Or in a big hotel
While monkies play above-a,
We'll make love-a.

Now We're not the kind
To let vibrations,
Trigger our imagination
Easily.
No, that's just not Us.
But We turn into tigers,
Everytime we get the sight of,
What we love, love, love.

Ohh oh oh...
When Obama,
When Obama smiles at us,
We go to Rio
De Janeiro.
We Duty-bound fellas,
Till Obama winks at us
He frees us from our wives,
And we are free at last.
What a blast!

Wooooo hooooo...
whoa oh oh ohh...
whoa oh ohh...
When Obama,
When Obama smiles at us,
We go to Rio
De Janeiro.
Responsible fellas,
When Obama smiles at us
His winks lighten up our lives,
And we're am free to lust.
Until the bust!

(Rio)

When Obama smiles at us,
We go to Rio.
Rio,
Rio De Janeiro.

Take us back,
We put it in.
Take us where we know
We're gon' to Rio.
Oh ohh...

So.... now you really understand what "service" means... and I even kept it G-rated.... I'm tired...

Why can't I do both? I'm not taking out my nose ring, or my navel ring, or the 13 piercings in my ears, or any others... except for my next MRI, and I won't stop wearing my Laika t-shirt, and there's not much I can do about my tats and would happily get more, but that doesn't mean I've stopped believing my individualism is an end in itself or that I don't exercise my individual right to enfranchisement by always voting, &c. &c. The two are not mutually exclusive and my "reasons" for choosing to practice 'non-mainstream body modification' are not conforming to a collectivist ideology... It was something I began doing long before it was considered 'fashionable', and my reasons for marking myself are personal and have nothing to do with anyone else. They have personal meaning for me, and I couldn't give a shit what anyone thinks of them, good or bad, you or anyone else. They weren't, any of them, done on a whim (I've always taken that old saying, "Everyone gets the tattoo they deserve," to heart.)

Besides, I'm pretty sure, whether you remember getting it or not, you have a tramp stamp on your very lower back that says "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter, For These Are The Gates Of Hell"... or maybe it's Meow...

Actually that's a user warning. I cannot tell you the number of times that people have come into my office, sat without an invitation and started to tell me their problems, of their making, owing to idiocy, and which are sometimes insoluble.

They are the ones which have this tramp stamp because the first thing they try to do is suck the office chair up their asses.

It has the added effect of hurting my foot when I kick them in the ass to get out, and also I lose more office chairs that way.

Celebration is in order, comrades!

We have been invited to have our own blog at the Washington Times Communities. And guess what post they decided to use to get us started there? This one!

Words: Now and then - meanings change with the politics

Proper credit to Opiate of the People has been assigned (at the end of the post).

Coincidentally, their logo is also a gloriously Red Cube. More stories and pictures are coming soon!

Kom. Theo.

Have you considered replacing your office chairs with large, sharpened stakes....roughly 5-7 inches in diameter? I should think that will eventually aleviate your office congestion matters.

User avatar
Raum, that's an excellent idea. I could use the tips of some of my impaling stakes which have had the main body burned by all the, uh, proles who had to be re-educated. As you know, I impale first, then burn. This is a physical manifestation of the progressive trick of stealing OPM and then telling other people that they're bad people to mind being robbed.

Everything for the State, and nothing outside the State.

Except of course for the bits that I have in the Rancho. That's MINE.

User avatar
Charity
Then: Generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless
Now: A tax loophole used by Republicans to defraud our glorious government of its fair share

User avatar
Of course, Pigdog. Contributions mean nothing unless they are to correct organizations to influence people to correct ideas. Charity is moveon.org. Charity is the DNC. Charity is selling Che tee-shirts. Charity is doing well by doing good. Just like the Goracle.

My apologies Father Prog, I had assumed that we all knew our contributions only counted when they benefited our most wise and benevolent leaders. I am but a humble cog in our country's great machine.

User avatar
No, Pigdog, you are an up-and-coming prog. I've been around here for a while and I was a callow tyro when I came here. Why, I remember that I wouldn't even steal a pencil from a blind man's cup. Can you believe that?

Also I had this quaint notion that there was such a thing as property rights. Now that I'm a Made Prog, I know that the property rights are my rights to the property that I want.

It took me a while to make me the center of the universe--because I'm better person, as the nun said at the Democrat convention. Years ago I was nothing. I believed in standing on your own two feet.

Now, being a Made Prog, I believe in putting my feet on the shoulders, necks and heads of the people I need to climb over.

To eliminate the bothersome property that I want that people don't know how to take care of, and also to reduce those difficult freedoms which people have.

I ask you. If people were allowed to do what they wanted to do, then who would obey us?

Who? I ask you, who?

There. There is no answer to that.

I'm off to check on the construction of my newest gulag. Pour encourager les autres.

User avatar
To be truthful, Father Prog, I have been eyeing my neighbor's Stolichnaya vodka. But with your helpful guidance and reeducation, you have reminded me that his vodka is also my vodka. I shall properly celebrate my new found property tonight. Na zda-ró-vye!

User avatar
Pigdog, ownership of property is a bourgeois convention and can be ignored. Epater les bourgeoisie! Of course we only say this when it's other people's property which is to be liberated and freed from its captivity in hands which would not appreciate it quite as much as you or I would.

It's the property's feeling, you see. I just know that the Stoly would be very happy to be owned by you. Happier in fact than to be owned by the neighbor. In fact the Stoly could be said to have chosen you--because you wanted it, and because you're a Prog, your wises are reality.

And since you're a prog, reality is what you pull out your ass every morning.

By definition we're not accountable because by definition--our definition which is the ultimate invocation of begging the question when used in its correct and philosophical meaning--we define sanctity and goodness and no matter how stinking our actions may be, we are always officially in good odor.

Because we define good odor. This really is the true meaning of begging the question. Not posing the question, but begging it.

We're better than anyone else.

How can you say that?

Because we say we are.

Oh.

Does this clarify things?

User avatar
Oh, and you could found the Vodka Liberation Front. For vodka which would prefer to be in your dacha rather than in your neighbor's. Where it's merely sitting on a shelf instead of contributing to a blind-pig stupid-drunk orgy where we all tell ourselves how great we are, and then when we can no longer stand, we sniff each other's asses.

You cannot believe what Nanski Peloski's ass smells like.

User avatar
My Fatherland! You cannot imagine what I pull out of my ass every morning. And you are korrekt, this discussion has opened my eyes to countless possibilities. The reasons for revolution are as infinite as there are bottles of vodka. I am certain that I could inspire or even reeducate if necessary, other vodka drinkers to join my revolution in liberating vodka from the masses of under-appreciative vodka drinkers.

This is an endeavor I can devote the rest of my life to and never truly be finished. I realize that there is no revolution too big or too small when I find myself needing or even wanting other goods or possessions.

Na zda-ró-vye fellow Prog!

User avatar
Dr. Johnson said that when you are tired of London, you are tired of life. When there is nothing left to steal, I'll be tired of life.

Which means that in a trillion years, when the universe has disintegrated into nothing but photons, and there are no more atoms left, then I shall be casting covetous eyes on my neighboring photon's possessions, and take offense at another photon's doing what he wants to do when I can find a reason to tell him not to do.

What he wants to do. Which he can't because he wants to. Which means that I don't want him to.

See how easy it is to be a prog? Be refractory as hell.

User avatar
I had no idea when refracting so much properly corrected truth, that one could become so dizzy. I will need time to reflect on and practice such refracting of truth, so that it comes as naturally as breathing government approved green air.

User avatar
Now, Dear Kommissar Pigdog, and I do hope that I am not treacly, I hope that you realize that "government approved green air" is just code for taxing the air that we breathe. Yes, that's it. Taxing the air that we breathe.

I myself am a physically generous man. I breathe a lot of air. So it is only fit and mete that I pay more for the air that I breathe than say some octogenarian with COPD. Because I use more. And because I'll live longer to bear the tax burden, and that's the bottom line. Never forget the bottom line, Dear KPD, never forget the bottom line.

Since I have stated that I think it just that one be taxed for breathing, then it is next required to see who will do the administration of this tax. How much it will be, the collection schemes used, and so forth. What could be fairer than having me, Father Prog Theocritus, whose very blood pulses with rivulets of hope and change and change and compassion (which are, by the way, losing the battle from the megalomania and greed) administer this new tax?

It's like the Texas lottery. Set up by the State, run by the State, and all for the State. Everything for the State, nothing outside the State--B. Mussolini. But then you don't have to play the lottery.

Ah. I'm calmer now. I shall of course shoulder the burden of administering this new tax on breathing.

User avatar
I have another word that must be mentioned in this wonderful list of words with changed meanings...

America
Then: a country that above all defended God granted rights, freedom and liberty
Now: a country Michelle Obama is now finally proud of for the first time in her life

User avatar
Ah, yes, PigDog, you're right. We must remake AmeriKKKa so that Michelle Johnson Obama, who has never done anything in her life, can be proud of us. Bear in mind that her senior thesis at Princeton was about being--wait for it--black in Princeton. She was told she didn't have the grades to get in, and it crushed her. But she wrote her senior thesis...from Princeton. About how she didn't have the grades to get in.

Ah. Such magnificent and complete disregard of facts can happen only to a fully entitled, fully made Prog. Like Moochelle.

The most important thing on earth is that the world be remade so that school children can't have what they want to eat. Because Moochelle doesn't like it.

User avatar
I see what you are saying Father Prog. To be a more fair and just country, we must lower the bar rather than raise it. If we raise the bar, we create inequality and in doing so, we leave behind so many up-and-coming progs who are so full of wants and oh so ready to take what they want. The key to our success is our strength in numbers, solidarity if you will. But in order to get these overwhelming numbers, we need gimmicks. Gimmicks like celebrity endorsements!

When we have such fantastic Progs like George Clooney, Matt Damon, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba and Madonna (ok maybe Madonna isn't quite so fantastic), bringing in new members and keeping them in the fold should be as easy as stewing a turnip! Проще пареной репы

User avatar
Let's not forget Morgan Freeman either, who has shown his proggery so magnificently. You know, I really like his serious yet pleasant delivery; I like his work on Through the Wormhole and other things. And I feared that he was a rational person.

But not to worry. He's a prog just like all of us. Filled to above the Plimsoll line with self-regard.

Progress is more important. Everything follows.

All libraries holding registerd copies of The People's Dictionary will be issued new pages to tip in, forthwith!

/prog off/
Copies of The Great Soviet Encyclopedia actually did have serial numbers. As truth, um, evolved, new revised sheets were sent to the libraries with the firm instruction to paste in the new pages and cut out the old, counter-revolutionary pages and return them to the publisher (conveniently located in Dzerzensky Square). When Beria (who?) shed this mortal coil, the article on "Bering Sea" suddenly became much, much longer while the article on Comrade Beria (who?), um, went into the memory hole. True fact. (Unlike other facts.)
