Najibullah is Afghanistan's Che Guevara

Najibullah is Afghanistan's Che Guevara! As head of the communist secret police and then president, Najibullah did as much good for Afghanistan as Che Guevara did for Cuba, Congo, Bolivia, and any other place he purged of counter revolutionaries. That's why Afghanistan today is as prosperous a country as Cuba is! And that's why he is revered by his die-hard fans, many years after he was killed by imperialists.

Wikipedia wrote:He returned to Kabul after the Soviet invasion in 1979. In 1980, he was appointed the head of KHAD, the secret police. Under Najibullah's control, it is claimed that KHAD arrested, tortured and executed tens of thousands of Afghans. Amnesty International provided evidence of ‘widespread and systematic torture of men, women and children'. Survivors of his prisons have accused him of personally torturing and killing inmates, often by beating them to the ground and kicking them to death.[1] In 1981 he was promoted to full membership in the Politburo.

Interestingly enough, his revolutionary predecessor and another Soviet puppet who promised the Afghanis hope and change we can believe in, was named ... Babrak.
That's Comrade Babrak Karmal to you, imperialist swines!

Very progressive, Comrade. To understand Babrak fully you must understand the story of the man whom he replaced, Mohammed Daoud

Wiki on Mohammed Daoud wrote:Brezhnev described Afghanistan's non-alignment as important to the USSR and essential to the promotion of peace in Asia, but warned him about the presence of experts from NATO countries stationed in the northern parts of Afghanistan.

In 1977 President Daoud made plans that the Government in Kabul would no longer have any personal relationships with the Soviet Union and try to make Afghanistan closer to the West, especially with other oil rich Middle-East nations. Afghanistan signed a co-operative military treaty with Egypt and by 1977 the Afghan military and police force were being trained by Egyptian Armed forces. This angered the Soviet Union because Egypt took the same route in 1974 and distanced itself from the Soviets. Fearing Afghanistan would do the same, the KGB was ready to get rid of Daoud and set up a puppet government far more friendly to the Soviets.

Seems Islamic radicals are fond of teaming up with pro-communist activists for the sake of subversion. Hmmm, I wonder where we have seen that lately?

Maybe the Obamessiah will declare Che to be his running mate as VP. It will be a Glorious World of Next Tuesday when BHO is elected to be the new POTUS.
Actually Comrade, I am reading a good book , Ghost Wars, on the subject even now. To be truthful, even the pro-communist Afghans were divided between those on Najibullah's side and those against. In fact, it was pro-communitst forces that defected to the forces working with the Pakistani Intelliegence Services in a failed assassination and coup attempt, and in the end, yet another split that had communitst forces joining forces with the Northern front forces that eventually did take Kabul.

Nothing about Afghanistan and the events there can be summarized simply.
