"It is a matter of record that in the German Election of 1933, the Communist Party was ordered by its leaders to vote for the Nazis - with the explanation that they could later fight the Nazis for power, but first they had to help destroy their common enemy : capitalism and its parliamentary form of government."

-- Ayn Rand (1905-1982)

Something sounds pretty familiar, considering what was done to ALL challengers to Obama over the past 4 years. Not even Herman Cain was exempt from the character assassination.

Restupified and Ayn bring up an important historical fact that illuminates how similar National Socialism and Marxist-Leninist Socialism are in some basic features. Mainly, in this case, the use of the Mob as a weapon to achieve power. (Of course once monopolizing power they suppress mobs as a matter of course).

Ann Coulter would take this even closer to our current condition. That's for another time.

Here is Joseph Goebbels trying to collaborate with the Left years earlier than 1933:

"Goebbels published an open letter to "my friends of the left," urging unity between socialists and Nazis against the capitalists. "You and I," he wrote, "we are fighting one another although we are not really enemies.""

This was in the mid 1920's when Joseph, the stary eyed Socialist, was one of the leaders of the 'northern wing' of the Nazi Party...which tended to the left. Anyway Hitler decided that it 'was all about him' and eventually took his party off the political spectrum all together.

At some point Goebbels even shared a stage with the Communist during some protest or another.
