Secret of Iron Dome Revealed?

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes shocked Fayette County supporters at a rally Tuesday when she unexpectedly revealed classified Israeli defense secrets during her remarks.

“The Iron Dome has been a big reason why Israel has been able to withstand the terrorists that have tried to tunnel their way in,” Grimes was quoted as saying.

Supporters of Grimes are calling it “a slip of the tongue.” Others are not so sure. One onlooker (the only one we could locate) familiar with the term Iron Dome commented.

“I don't think she should have revealed that the dome is made of iron. Now the Arabs will avoid digging there.”

A second possible mis-speak by Grimes occurred after the rally. When asked about her chances of winning Mitch McConnell's senate seat she said;

"You all know Mitch McConnell said his number one priority was to make sure that our president didn't see another term," Grimes told the crowd. "Well, it is my number one priority to make sure Mitch McConnell doesn't see a sixth term."

Josh Holmes, an adviser to the McConnell campaign, added to the speculation over Mr. Obama's possible 3rd term as president;

"If you're looking for a single item that sheds light on this entire race, it's that Alison Lundergan Grimes isn't just supporting Barack Obama's policies, she's criticizing McConnell for opposing his re-election for president."
