Rename Locations Named After Colors

Comrades, we are facing a serious problem of Equity and Social Justice. Disregarding for a moment how places like the White House simply represents the hegemonic power of white people, what shall we do about the visually impaired and colorblind who may not perceive colors?

Can you imagine the constant microaggressions a colorblind person must experience when others discuss the Blue Mountains? Or how oppressive it must be to hear about the Painted Desert while being blind?

I demand all colors be removed from place names at once!

User avatar
In Brooklyn (where I used to live) there are areas called Red Hook and Greenpoint. What a nightmare for colorblind people who see red and green as interchangeable colors. Is it Green Hook or Redpoint? If any of them lived there they wouldn't be able to find their way home.

The best solution is to rename all colors into red. We have done this on the People's Cube and it worked out perfectly.

User avatar
And what of those with fear of heights who are triggered by place names such as High Street, Brooklyn Heights, Mountain View, and so on? What vertigo, what anxiety, what anguish must well up in them (no, no, I did not mean to say "up"!) at the mere mention of such places! Down with such names, down I say.

But as to colors ... perhaps even references to any kind of seeing may be painful to the differently sighted. (See above, "Mountain View.") Oh, comrades, there is so much more to destroy improve that our work For The Good Of Humanity will never be done ... until Next Tuesday.

Or the completely blind that perceive color?

Furthermore, tonal music is a never-ending affront to the tone-deaf, constantly reminding them of their own inability to carry the tune. Just think of the hundreds if not thousands of radio and TV channels, recording studios, and an army of musicians and their managers who shamelessly generate huge profits at the expense of the suffering of the differently-eared.

Ban Big Music I say!

The exception is, of course, rap music which is completely inclusive of the tone-disabled performers.

Demand affirmative action requiring quotas on tone-deaf performers!

Every music collective must have at least one member who is tone-deaf. Have you ever heard of a famous tone-deaf orchestra conductor? Neither have I. This atrocity is about to change.

User avatar
Green Bay should be ashamed of their name as well as color teams like Cardinals, Red Sox, Red Skins, Red Wings, White Sox?, etc. We should rename the New York Giants for people who are not giant.

Long overdue, comrade!

Since the Party always says it cares about "the little guy" my initial idea was to suggest "New York Little Guys." But living in a post-war society (the War on Women has ended 1:0), I thought that would be a microaggression towards female-identified and transitioning citizens.

I thought of "New York Shorties," but in progressive urban areas that just means children.

So here's "New York Medium-Sized Citizens," which is a bit lame but a lot more inclusive and completely inoffensive.

User avatar
"Citizen" marginalizes our new comrades who have come here to either do jobs Amerikkans won't do, or spread Sharia. I denounce such elitist stratification!

How about persons? It is inclusive.

User avatar
I accept my comrades' constructive criticism that is only equal to my own self-criticism. This one eliminates the citizenship requirement and combats the pervasive sizism. And I don't mean it in a sexual way.

Most equal, Comrade Direktor!

Say, should we exempt and encourage the use of colors like Black and Brown in naming convention?

User avatar
Ivan the Stakhanovets - I know you're acting out of best intentions, I'm afraid a name like "Brown Mountain" may spark a series of undesirable memes in social media.

Back in the Motherland, when the great renaming began after the revolution, the government simply named every street, square, town, village, and even mountain peaks after revolutionary leaders and ideas. Thus we had Lenin Peak, Communism Peak, and a million Lenin streets, squares, and towns including Leningrad, Leninabad (in Tajikistan), etc. Many things were also named after various small- and medium-rank Party heroes.

They used to have a million of things named after Stalin, but after the cult of personality had been denounced the renaming happened again. So we have to be careful.

We can't go wrong with such concepts as...

 • Social Justice Mountain
 • Gay Springs
 • Equal Heights
 • Fairness Square
 • Utopian Slope
 • Victim Park
 • Misery Beach
 • Socialist Drive
 • Feminist Hills
 • Minorities Expressway
 • Lake Compassion
 • Communist Cul-de-sac
 • Tax The Rich Circle
 • Antifa Mall
 • Transgender City

And so on...

We must also change the name of all things and peoples named Wright, which sounds too much like "right," which is fascist.

User avatar
While I reject 'colorism' in all it's forms, how can we attain a colorblind society without most equal colors which can be blind to?

User avatar

Smash the fascist alt-Wright brothers and their gas-guzzling contraption!

What about personages? Things are going to be different around here when Red Square is just "Square".

And what will happen to Commisarka Pinkie?

Will we be racist if we call them by their current names?

Perhaps we could shift to the non-visible spectrum, which would at least salvage "Infra-Red Square..."

User avatar
Infra-Red Square is a great idea, but remember, comrades: the issue is never the issue, the issue is always the revolution. Thus, the spectrum-banning, and statue-toppling, and trans-bathroom erecting will all wither away once our proper revolutionary government takes over.

But I sure hope that in the World of Next Tuesday, there will be a Red Square Square.

In the meantime, we need to act preemptively. Squares have right angles, dozens of them, and that could be a pickle. I think we need to update the Current Truthwith New People's Geometry.

I think we may have a revisionist here....

User avatar
In New York, they are now clamoring for the removal of the statue of Columbus from Columbus Circle. But I say why not remove the circle as well? Why privilege the circle over, say, the trapezoid?

For that matter, why privilege a fixed shape at all? Why may it not decide its own shape identity rather than being forced to identify as the shape assigned at construction?

Perhaps the ideal "shape" should be the amoeba. Or the lava lamp.

Why must the lava lamp be forced to identify as the illumination device type assigned at construction? Why can't they identify as floor lamps, or table lamps, or even tasteful, decorative wall sconces? Why do they not have access to the properly licenced-and-bonded Party-Approved™ electrician of their choice so that they can transition to alternative fuel sources like the rendered blubber of the fat-cat one-percent?

And why can't they choose to do anything with the 'lava' in their own housings other that reheat it ad nauseum until the the heating element burns out and they can't afford a replacement because Trump cut funding for the Obamacare Appliance Repair Medicaid subsidies?

If a shape must be chosen, then I say we go with a sphere so we can identify with that victim of white astronomy, Pluto.

Komrades!

We can achieve all in one glorious swoop!

We can honor our glorious founder!
We can solve angle inequity! And
We can accomplish THE geometric impossibility!

Simply by renaming a...

Red Square Circle!

Well done, Comrade. You've also added a new issue to be "disturbed" or "troubled" or "concerned" about: angle inequality (I'm modifying it slightly to make it a little more proggish). Now young socialist pioneers have something new to be triggered over, and we can release a new line of slogans, placards, and bumper stickers.
"Fight Angle Inequality!"
"End the Angle Inequality Gap!"
"Stop Calling Me Obtuse!"
"Right Angles Aren't the Only Angles!"
Really, this is inspiring.

For squaring the Red Circle—or for circling the Red Square, or for whatever he's just done—I humbly nominate our most equally and humbly Comrade Grendelssohnovovich to be promoted to the most equal and humble post of People's Geometer™.

Captain Craptek - I was over at THE PEOPLE'S FOUNDRY™ this morning to pay up on that Mayweather vs. McGregor fight (you know the guy... Ivan the Cube Maker) when I noticed that they were constructing a statue in your honor for your magnificent People's Cube™ GIF. Those damaged confederate statues came in handy.

Try not to get run over in the next week or so! (Remember... you didn't hear this from me!)

Here you can get a better idea of the size of the statue. Ivan the Cube Maker is 6'7" tall!

I most humbly and equally thank you for this most equal and humble honor!... which of course will need to be redistributed equally throughout the Kollective. I thank you also for my Lomonosov Gold Medal (though it is flaking already) and eagerly anticipate my trophy from the People's Foundry™... after, of course, everyone else has received theirs.

Therefore, I salute my fellow Kubists and shout, "I serve the working bloggers!", and vow to most humbly and equally do so as People's Geometer™ for as long as 1 plus 1 equals... um... oh, krap! My People's Current Truth App™ just crashed again!

Komrade,

Thank you for your kind words. But you need to update you Current Truth™ app. Last fall our library kollective was informed by our dean, that we no longer care about "equality". He informed us that it is now "all about equity", the glory of which the world watched come to flower this spring right here on The Evergreen State Kollective! Looking forward to all the new indoctrination sessions they promised this fall!

<Prog Off>

Seriously, that's actually what happened. The Library Dean told us; they no longer care about "equality", it is now all about "equity", and boy did they mean it! Gave me chills then and with good reason it turns out. This new focus on "equity" lead directly to the witch-hunt of Bret Weinstein and the accompanying "protests" here at Evergreen. Classes start again in two weeks...
